The second half of the Breeders Cup betting football season will be getting underway on Sunday. Week nine as it is known by, is the most pivotal week of the regular season, as it is the final week, that bookie software pretenders are thwarted from being contenders. This weekend also provides bettors with several marquee matchups that could be difficult to place a wager on. Here are the NFL picks for week nine. New York Giants v New England Patriots – In a rematch of the 2008 Super Bowl game, the New York Giant take on the New England Patriots. The only difference between this game and 2008 is that the Giants have all of momentum, after a couple of successful weeks. Meanwhile, the Patriots, despite only losing this past weekend, are on the ropes, as the Pittsburgh Steelers basically showed the rest of the league how to exploit the Patriots run defense and defensive secondary. Giants pivot Eli Manning appears to be hitting his stride, and a win against Tom Brady and the Patriots, would go a long way in showing critics that Manning belongs in the conversation as an elite level quarterback. Look for the Giants to continue making a statement as the best team in the NFC with a win over New England. Baltimore Ravens v Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers currently sit at six and two after their previously mentioned victory over the New England Patriots. However, that being said, facing the Baltimore Ravens and coming away with a victory, will be no easy task. The Ravens, at five and two on the season have a victory over Pittsburgh already this season. With many people believing that Joe Flacco is the real deal, we believe the Ravens will once again step up and destroy Pittsburgh. |
